Renews automatically , at higher price, without your permission

There M.O.: Sell you an initial subscription at a low price and get your credit card #, then a year later, renew the subscription for a sky high price and charge it to your credit card without your acknowledgement or permission. They know that many people never bother to check their statements and will just accept and pay it. STAY AWAY! Then, after the fact it is hard to get to them and get a refund. What a way to run a business. I can't believe the publishers agree to let them rep their magazines. I suppose I should not be surprised.

Tried to bill me twice

I stopped receiving my magazines in January, when my subscription does not expire until July. When I call these people they said that my payment wouldn't go through. First, why are they trying to bill me in January for a subscription that doesn't expire until July? Second, why didn't they contact me about not being able to get payment? I could've told them that my debit card had expired and I got a new card. Thirdly, when I called them they had no answer for my first question, which is the main problem: why are you trying to bill me five months in advance of the subscription expiration? I have no doubt that they would've turned around and try to bill me again in July when the subscription actually expired. Then they want to wrap up the call by asking me if I want to renew. As if! I don't trust them with my credit card information and I don't trust the way they do business trying to bill somebody five months in advance of the subscription expiration. No thank you! These people are a scam and a rip off.

This company billed my credit card without my permission & then said they couldn't find any record of my subscriptions. Had to dispute through fraud department of my credit card.

Same exact thing just happened to me. Subscription doesn't expire until September 2014, but I didn't get my May issues of 3 magazines I had ordered through this service.

Each magazine company said my subscription had been canceled by the service, who was trying to charge me months in advance for my next 12 issues.

I called and they said my subscription was for 6 issues, when the magazine companies said it was for 12. Who renews for 6 months?

I had the same experience in fact my bank had to shut down my card because of these people's fraudulent activities. :(

Magazine Outlet Subscription Review

They hook you into a few free issues then bill you for the subscriptions. When u try to cancel it takes 3 months for a refund. Automated system- impossible to talk to a real person.

My credit card was used without my permission

When I received my credit card statemnt I saw a charge of$68.00 for magazines that I never ordered. I contacted Magazine outlet about this I was offered a partial refund but after a few emails I was then offered a full refund, but if I ever get it, I am not sure? My concern was why my credit card was used without my permission. Is it not illegal to use one credit card or and bank card without getting permission. I think that alot of this is going on and still believe it is illegal. I going to write to the Attorney General of the state that this comany is located plus anyone else that can stop these illegal practices. In one of their emails they mention Biz Rate concernin these subscriptons. I never gave Biz Rate permission to bill my credit card or give any information to anyone. I now owe 68.00 and not sure that I am not going to be charged more. For example, I received a subscription for a golf magazine and I have never played golf or know anything about it?

Magazine Outlet

Received an offer to get magazines and was told "Each year you'll receive a reminder notice specifying price plus processing (and any applicable sales tax) and billing terms for the next term of issues and you authorize the account you provided to be charged the rate on the notice for the next year of issues unless you choose to cancel." I never received this "notice of renewal" and this company debited money for 4 magazines out of my bank account. When you call the company, you cannot get a live person and get a runaround voice service when you attempt to cancel. This is a scam!!

Total Ripoff!

This company sucks. They are supposed to send you a notice when they are going to charge your account for continued subscription service, but I never got one.

Thank goodness I checked my bank statement today because they are charging $35 for a magazine I can get elsewhere for $12! Then, after being badgered by the automated phone system for a while (Are you sure you want to cancel? How about one more issue for only $2, then cancel if you like? Would you like to transfer your subscription to a different magazine?

Arrgh!!!) I was finally able to cancel, but they were only going to refund $31.50 of the $35! It was taken out 2 days ago, so no issues had been sent; must've been a charge for ripping me off!

Two words: AVOID THEM!

Airline points

I had to order magazines to use up my airline points, collected over the years. Now, You sent me a flier about magazines I never heard of, so I to pick out something being blinded I had never heard of most of the magazines. Essence I decided to gamble on. I canceled, no use to me and want to replace this with something else as colored young women does not work for me and I am in my 60's. I canceled this subscription instead of throwing it out every month!!!!! So I have still some points to use up now. Thank you, Sally
